100% — I try not to conflate the two but may have failed on this occasion.
I provide distinction due to the impossible which has been enabled but perhaps programmable money is more appropriate with no distinction between money still being a technology of exchange and comparison. Crypto, fundamentally, for me at least, is the dawn of a new age for currency. Programmable currency can do things no form of currency ever could in the past — i.e. transfer without the need for intervention triggered by external factors. Metered payment without the need for a wallet to even contain currency. Other things I can’t even begin to imagine. Sure, modern money in savings accounts trasferable with a piece of plastic were one thing, but we still needed banks. I may have confused the eradication of the institution which holds our money right now, with the destruction of the entire construct which clearly isn’t true.
