Alan, you’re spot on, that is absolutely what I allude to. I’m not disputing the fact that, initially at least, more human involvement will be required. Ironing out kinks will be an entirely human endeavour, but once these has been alleviated or reduced they will never need to be tackled again. As you say — you only need to create a good contract once.
That may be the case already, where you see the proliferation of template legal documents online, but their adoptance is tied to people’s propensity to use them or their own trust at understanding constipated legal jargon. The biggest advent that will arise from this is the simplicity in which transactions can occur and the intelligence on agents operating on the platform where they have to be good actors or face the consequences.
