Everything you Know is a Myth — How Understanding this Fact Let’s you Change the World

Humanity is characterised by imagination

Everything that exists today was established by the perpetuation of chance events supported by myths.

If you subscribe to the theory of evolution you become cognisant of the fact our reality only exists the way it does because of beliefs which were implemented, often hundreds of years ago, which we continue to subscribe to today.

Why is it that we have monarchs and politicians, repression, a lack of tolerance of specific ideologies/ genders/sexuality and money?

Evolution of humanity, homo-sapiens, began 200,000 years ago in the plains of Africa. From that has come everything we have inherited today.

There were no politicians voting on legislation prescribing the way we must live, no monarchs aristocratically ruling over us who we must acknowledge as our superiors.

Hierarchy and class never divided us or informed who we permitted to communicate with, sexuality wasn’t approved or prevented by religion, money never existed for the purchase of the goods or services we required and apartheid or divisions based on colour didn’t occur since the disingenuous and nonsensical reasons, i.e. one race being lazier and more unintelligent than the other, hadn’t become conventionally held belief we have fought for so long to escape from.

Myths, and belief of them, are what drive and divide humanity

They are the things which have been imagined to suppress and control population, believing that without them there would be anarchy.

Laws, class, and human rights are all fictionalised creations imagined by few and spread to the masses

We believe we are rational beings but our actions paint a far different picture.

You could never convince a monkey to give you a banana by promising him limitless bananas after death, in monkey heaven. Only humans can believe such fictions — Yuval Harari, Sapiens

The most important things in the world exist only in our imaginations

They are fabrications in our minds which we have taken as fact but the truth is nothing is fact, not really.

Gender inequality exists not because having a womb disqualifies you from participation or leadership positions; it exists because we believe it does. If we evict those thoughts from the collective consciousness of humanity gender inequality would evaporate overnight

It is only because we believe that the qualities we have attributed to woman as being effeminate detrimentally affect their performance in comparisons to men that the inequality persists. The rationality of such argument is eradicated by the truths that history often reveals.

Below is an image of two of the most eminent men of their time as the personification of masculinity in their day. Note the high heels, stockings, wig and general flamboyance favoured in the 1650s.

We believe we are consistent in our beliefs but the truth is they are constantly changing alongside the reality we experience which places them at conflict.

Kings and Queens would have disappeared overnight had their subjects stopped believing in their eminency but a whole system was in place which led to cognitive dissonance preventing change

Even though we believe something is wrong or it makes no sense we are unable to consolidate those differences into altering our beliefs or enforcing action.

It would be too painful, both mentally and physically, to face up to the inadequacies in our thinking so instead we ignore them to protect ourselves

In order to profit we must tweak our mindset to take advantage

Everything we experience and conform to today was created by people that were no smarter than you or me. We all possess the power to alter our reality, we can change and influence it and build our own things that other people can use and believe.

Laws, orders and myths prevent us from realising our potential

They were designed in order to assure mass conformance ensuring progress towards a common goal. This ensured those in position of power stayed there, those families of wealth remained rich and those educated monopolise knowledge.

Myths maintain the status quo

To achieve anything of significance we must escape the stigma of inherited wisdom

We must tweak our thinking to understand everything we believe was imagined then created by someone else and because of that we can write our own narrative.

Laws of physics may be universally applicable but human disposition is in a constant state of flux. If you’re not effectively altering your world you’re subscribing to something which was implemented by others

Doing or believing something because it is the way it has always been done is the most dangerous trait adopted by humanity.

Life isn’t rational. Unlike other animals whose behaviours are governed by their genetically inherited traits we have escaped the biological paradigms of our evolution.

Where mouths formed millions of years ago on the first organisms to feed we now use ours to speak as well. That is to say we are capable of whatever biology allows not by the constraints and limitations enforced by imagined belief.

Possibilities for life are only inhibited by a lack of imagination or subscription to arbitrary myths that affect every aspect of our lives

Recognise that time is your most precious resource and that you can either waste it doing what you have been told to do or you can challenge everything and create something new.

There are two types of people in life — creators and consumers

The beauty of human consciousness is that you get to choose what you want to be.
