How it Feels to Face a Challenge that will Define your Life
I’ve voluntarily walked into the abyss not knowing what lays ahead
I’ve leaped from a plane hoping to create a parachute before I hit the ground.
That is the nature of entrepreneurship
Everyone has a plan ‘till they get punched in the mouth
Make no mistake, I’ve taken the biggest risk of my life
I’ve quit a high paying, stable and secure job in one of the most wealthy industries in the world. My startup aims to disrupt the most entrenched industry in history. All the odds are stacked against me.
And that’s why I’ll succeed
I have so much to lose that my belief in the success of my company borders on delusion. I have no plan B, no thoughts in my head about what I’ll do if this isn’t as successful as I know it will be.
And you can criticise that or question it’s sensibility
I welcome it, I relish the challenge, I ache for the opportunity to convince you to join us on this journey. I crave adversity in knowledge that I need to be challenged in order to exponentially exceed every aspect of what already exists.
The only way I succeed is if I create a platform which enriches every single user. I’m not trying to hit a single, I’m trying to smash a grand slam home run and change the world.
That isn’t hyperbole
The reason that the company exists is to improve the prospects of every single person that joins. The company will leave you in a far better position financially than you are currently in. If it doesn’t we fail even more badly than you do and I’ve wasted the best years of my life.
Trust people that have most to lose
Where someone’s livlihood is contingent on the fact that they are succesful and nothing else, back them over any competitor no matter how far the other party is ahead.
Nothing can compete with obsession
Nothing can escape the claws of a relentless pursuant
Nothing can beat something that will never give up
Grit, determination and perseverance is humanities superpower. When it is married to all of the above people can achieve things you wouldn’t believe
- We can tear doors from burning cars
- We can land booster rockets on floating platforms in the sea
- We can defeat disease which has afflicted humanity
That’s what I am — relentless, starved and irrepressible
I’m going to win and I’m asking you to join us. Alone we are weak, together we are strong. Only together we are unstoppable. Together we can overthrow government and change the world.
I am not proposing the former — but guarantee the latter
We’re standing up for the little guy and sticking it to the man. Individually we may need to step back in the face of overwhelming pressure due to a lack of leverage and influence to object to our treatment.
Together we can defend our rights while altering the rules of engagement
Collectively we can demand change while enforcing it
Ultimately the world exists as it does now due to decisions made by other individuals. Everything you see and touch and use exists because someone else designed it that way. We can do that to.
We can create things for other people to use
We will
It’s time to be counted
We can accept our fate, continue to be exploited or we can scream out that enough is enough. We can sit back and watch as other people are being taken advantage of, or we can provide transparency which lets us bulldoze the house of card stacked against us all.
Life is like tennis
We sit back and watch as a select few knock balls over a net taking turns to be the centre of attention.
Instead of being spectators we can storm the court and take back the ball.
That is what I am building
I am going to destroy the banking industry
