I think it’s a subject which is often retrospectively appreciated but only upon the realisation of what you have previously missed. That is certainly the case on my part as the catalyst of the beating drown truly was a watershed moment.
Your reaction is born from the same natural desire inherent in all great professionals; to be your absolute best and be the most efficient that everything you do. Realising that you don’t always have to be connected ironically takes time but I think once you have achieved it a tremendous burden is lifted and actually it allows you to concentrate more fully on the seperate elements of your life. This has certainly been my experience, that I get more out each aspect of my life by stringently adhering to schedule and not allowing one thing to overlap into the next.
